“Hope For Children” UNCRC Policy Centre spreads the spirit of Christmas by giving hope to children in need
On Tuesday 17th December “Hope for Children” UNCRC Policy Centre offered clothing, school items and toys to children and their families in need at the organization’s charity shop. The young singer and goodwill ambassador of HFC Ivi Adamou and Star Cyprus 2013 Elisa Georgiou were there to give out the presents to the children.
Their presence signifies the important role of youth in promoting a sense of mutual respect and philanthropy in our society, giving hope and happiness to children especially during the Christmas holidays. The presence of the above mentioned personalities is very important given that they themselves belong to the group of youth and they are aware of the concerns and problems faced by children and youth today, and they can also constitute good role models for them through promoting positive messages.
Ivi Adamou stated “I am glad to be here today. It is nice to help each other with any way we can. Such deeds fill our souls with love more than presents can do.” Elisa Georgiou said: “I feel very happy for this initiative because children need our help and especially during Christmas we should give them presents and make them happy”.
The Director General of the organization Mr. Joseph Varughese stated that “We hope that all children in Cyprus have a happy Christmas holiday and we are very happy to see young people like Ivi Adamou and Elisa Georgiou helping Hope For Children to achieve this”.
“Hope for Children” UNCRC Policy Centre would like to express its gratitude towards Mr. Andreas Neocleous for offering his space in the center of Nicosia to host HFC’s charity shop and for his continuous support towards the organization.
